My name is Phil Garvey. I am a practicing Counsellor and Psychotherapist or ‘talk therapist’.
I hold an MSc in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic skills and a BSc (hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a practitioner’s certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP).
For a number of years, I was a counsellor with Pieta House, a suicide and self-harm intervention centre. I have worked as a bereavement counsellor. I am experienced in in treating clients who present with ADD/ADHD. I have wide experience in treating clients who present with anxiety and or depression. I have treated clients who have been the victim of various forms of abuse (emotional, physical, sexual and neglect). I have also treated clients who have been subject to bullying. In addition, I counsel people who are dealing with addiction. I am particularly skilled in working with young adults.
