Margaret Somers O'Brien

Adult and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor

Adult and Adolescents

Margaret is a full accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists), working with individual adult and couple clients for more than a decade.

Margaret is a Person-Centered Counsellor, offering individuals’ perspective on their situations and issues while supporting greater self-awareness. Clients can make choices in their lives about changes they want to make or aspects they are seeking ways to cope with.

Margaret will take the time to listen and understand the client and draw from various therapeutic approaches as suits the given situation. In short, it is not a case of “one size fits all”. Rather, Margaret uses different techniques and skills according to what the client need is at a point in time.

Margaret explains - “I feel privileged to journey with my clients, as they explore their emotions and experiences, to arrive at a greater understanding of who they are, gaining knowledge and skills along the way which enhance their lives and relationships”.

Margaret commits to offer clients a safe, non-judgmental space where they can work through their distress/issues with compassion and empathy. She has a wealth of valuable experience to draw from. Areas of experience include childhood trauma, grief/bereavement, chronic illness, parenting/post-natal concerns, work related stressors, family/relationship problems, as well as general life issues.
